With a Master’s degree in Architecture, Mel brings a sharp eye for detail and a passion for design to her floral work. Her ability to create balance, harmony, and sophisticated color palettes ensures that every arrangement fits perfectly into its intended space, creating a seamless, artistic flow. Growing up in her grandparents’ florist in Northern Ireland, Mel is a third-generation florist with a love for flowers that has been unwavering since she was a child.
As the lead wedding designer at White House Flowers, Mel is committed to crafting personalized, unforgettable floral experiences that not only meet but exceed her couples’ expectations, bringing their floral visions to life on their special day.
Jess Hapl is the heartbeat of White House Flowers, keeping everything running smoothly with her exceptional organizational skills. With a background in textiles and floristry, Jess has spent years developing her craft, leading the retail and event side of the business. Her strong sense of visual harmony and innovative approach to textures, colors, and materials allows her to create floral designs that are as captivating to the senses as they are visually stunning.
The duo visits the markets 3-4 times a week, often rising at 4 a.m. while the world sleeps, to handpick the finest blooms available, ensuring that each floral arrangement is of the highest quality and perfectly suited to their clients’ needs.
Combining their expertise in architecture and textiles with their passion for floristry, Mel and Jess bring a unique perspective to every design.
